ARTISANS' MARKET in Hallowell, Maine

JOIN us for the Artisan's Market the third Sunday of each month at The Higher Grounds in Hallowell, Maine! Our next show is just a couple of weeks away on Sunday Aug. 21st from 10-3. We have 6 Maine artisans, who have been chosen to participate in the show because of their fabulous-kickin' Indie style, creativity, and wonderful use of material & color.

Julia from One Woman Studio makes the coolest tote, diaper, backpacks and market bags from recycled feed & coffee bags. We think it's the absolute ULTIMATE way to recycle! We've purchased her totes as gift bags for our friends and they are always much loved!

The twins, Kirsten & Cortney from Indigo Twin make one-of-a-kind folkart sculptures of just about anything you can think of! They do wedding toppers, objects (and my personal favorite), PETS! (I have one of my Lab Abby that is adorable)! BRING a photo in and they'll take your custom order right at the show!

Casondra from Casondra & Co. stamps, buffs, stains & shines up her wonderful collection of handstamped jewelry. Her look is very trendy, yet will never go out of style! Her Mom from Vega Glassworks will be showing that day as well!

The Sweet Mojo girls met Kendra from Whimsy in Brunswick at a show, and fell in love with her whimsical work! Skirts, aprons, home decor, she does it all, but I've got to tell you, we LOVED those skirts with the birds on them! Made for all shapes and sizes, come in and try one on!

We had seen Judy Babbin's work online for many years, but was BLOWN away once we finally got to meet and see her work in person! beautiful, chunky, earthy, rustic.... these are the words I think of when describing Judy's jewelry. I'm saving my pennies for a particular ring :)

OF COURSE the Sweet Mojo Girls will be there! Don't forget that we are discontinuing our DAY DREAM & FAINT SHADOW scents, so anything we have left will be disounted at the show! We handcraft Sugar Scrubs, Body Oils, Salt Soaks & Perfume Oils FROM SCRATCH using our own unique scents.

Refocus!

So we have been slowly working towards the wholesale end of things here at Sweet Mojo. We will continue to sell retail, but we'd love to sell our products at quality shops here in Maine. We've quickly realized that we need to "slim" down our scent line a bit if we'd ever have to meet the demand of selling wholesale. Picking two scents to discontinue was very hard for us, so in the end we chose the last two scents that we created, as the other 10 have been selling steadily for us the past year. Both of these scents are light, uplifting & quite lovely! And who knows, we may bring them back again in the future. But for now, in our destashing frenzy, we are selling any product that contains the Faint Shadow or Day Dream scents for 30% off!!

Artsy Affair in Brunswick, Maine

The Sweet Mojo girls are SUPER-PSYCHED to be involved with the Artsy Affair in downtown Brunswick, Maine this Friday night 6/3 from 5-9pm.

Some of our personal favorite artists will be there and we're allready thinking that we could get a jump on Christmas shopping :)

One reason why we are excited to be selling at this show, is that it wont be your typical old-fashion craft fair. The artisan's that have been chosen to show are top-notch Indie designers & artists. Also, adding to the overall grooviness of the show will be food by Scarlet Begonias & Byrnes Irish Pub, along with music by Gruvenwood. Dance, shop, eat & be merry. Now that's a Sweet Mojo attitude all the way! Of course, we'll be bringing all of our products for your sniffing pleasure. We've got some new products that we'll be unveiling at the show.

Also, Sweet Mojo partner, Jessica Moreau-Berry will be bringing a small selection of her Junque Revival jewelry. Jessica has written for Belle Armoire Jewelry Magazine, and books such as "Exhibition 36" by Susan Tuttle and "A Charming Exchange" By Ruth Rae & Kelly Snelling. All of her pieces are made from recycled metals and ephemera.

Shows, shows and more shows....

We're hosting another Artisans' Trunk Show at The Higher Grounds in downtown Hallowell, Maine. The last one was oodles of fun, being that we had live music and an extremely groovy atmosphere. Most of the vendors were busy and had a great show, including ourselves! The bar is open and we'll be serving drinks for folks of all ages. Hope to see you there!

a website of our very own........

Our friend Hope Wallace of Paper Relics came to Maine to visit for a week to show us how to run our very own website!! Because she is a dear blogging pal from way back, she gave us the royal treatment, and taught us how to make headers for each website page, thumbnail photos & gave us oodles of info that we NEVER would have been able to figure out!

Because she knows me so well, she knows my style, and therefore Jolene's, because we've always had the same feelings about how the look and feel of Sweet Mojo should be. When I mentioned to her that we were doing a website, she very quickly sent me a designed page, and we loved it... it was so Sweet Mojo! We speak the same language using very professional terms like "grunge it up a bit more" and "that butterfly-thingy for the shopping cart".

It's not quite finished, we will be working today and tomorrow on the site

(if we can remember everything that was taught to us)

Groovin' on a sunny afternoon

We are psyched to announce that Junque Revival, Vintage Jewelry & Sweet Mojo Apothecary will be set up for the entire day at the Portland Music and Arts Festival this Saturday on Free Street. Presented and sponsored by WCLZ, The Dogfish and a plethora of other Maine businesses, this all day music event will have an eclectic mix of bands along with some fabulous Maine artists & vendors.

                                                                                      
Our tent will have oodles and oodles of cool costume jewelry by Nancy (Jes's Mom) from Vintage Jewelry. Jes plans on bringing the Junque Revival copper tree loaded up with jewels, and of course we will have of our entire line of products from Sweet Mojo plus new products that you wont find online.

We are just so excited to be part of this wonderful little trunk show to be held this Sat. 8/14 at Chase Farm Bakery in downtown Augusta, Maine.
