Refocus!

So we have been slowly working towards the wholesale end of things here at Sweet Mojo. We will continue to sell retail, but we'd love to sell our products at quality shops here in Maine. We've quickly realized that we need to "slim" down our scent line a bit if we'd ever have to meet the demand of selling wholesale. Picking two scents to discontinue was very hard for us, so in the end we chose the last two scents that we created, as the other 10 have been selling steadily for us the past year. Both of these scents are light, uplifting & quite lovely! And who knows, we may bring them back again in the future. But for now, in our destashing frenzy, we are selling any product that contains the Faint Shadow or Day Dream scents for 30% off!!

Artisan & Vintage Market - Hallowell, Maine

Did you know that the Sweet Mojo girls host a show with Higher Grounds in Hallowell once a month from now until December? Well, NOW you do!

Our first show is Sunday, June 19th and we are excited to be sharing the space with some WONDERFUL artisans!

Head on over to our Facebook page to see who's showing and what they'll be bringing! You'll find an eclectic mix of vintage costume jewelry, feather hair extensions (done on site), pottery, bath & body, & handcrafted sterling jewelry!

Sweet Mojo will be having lots of specials, and of course will be bringing ALL of our products with our own handcrafted scents!

Hallowell, is a groovy little town filled with eateries, live music, shops & a gorgeous rail-trail along the Kennebec River. Come and make a day of it!

Artsy Affair in Brunswick, Maine

The Sweet Mojo girls are SUPER-PSYCHED to be involved with the Artsy Affair in downtown Brunswick, Maine this Friday night 6/3 from 5-9pm.

Some of our personal favorite artists will be there and we're allready thinking that we could get a jump on Christmas shopping :)

One reason why we are excited to be selling at this show, is that it wont be your typical old-fashion craft fair. The artisan's that have been chosen to show are top-notch Indie designers & artists. Also, adding to the overall grooviness of the show will be food by Scarlet Begonias & Byrnes Irish Pub, along with music by Gruvenwood. Dance, shop, eat & be merry. Now that's a Sweet Mojo attitude all the way! Of course, we'll be bringing all of our products for your sniffing pleasure. We've got some new products that we'll be unveiling at the show.

Also, Sweet Mojo partner, Jessica Moreau-Berry will be bringing a small selection of her Junque Revival jewelry. Jessica has written for Belle Armoire Jewelry Magazine, and books such as "Exhibition 36" by Susan Tuttle and "A Charming Exchange" By Ruth Rae & Kelly Snelling. All of her pieces are made from recycled metals and ephemera.

An "uplifting" contest!

Love is a beautiful thing......

The Art: The Sweet Mojo butterfly is from a larger piece of collage art on canvas made by Sweet Mojo partner, Jessica Moreau-Berry. Jessica entered a calender contest by Cloth Paper Scissors magazine in 2010 & the piece, "Queen of the Tulips" won a place in the 2011 calender's month of May. Not long after, Jes & Jolene decided to start Sweet Mojo Apothecary and after weeks of trying to find the right design for the labels, Jes & Jolene, on a whim, decided to play around with photographs of the art, and the labels came to life. Now Jes has played with her original art again, and has added a heart and text "sweet" to make a special pendant just in time for Valentines!

Shows, shows and more shows....

We're hosting another Artisans' Trunk Show at The Higher Grounds in downtown Hallowell, Maine. The last one was oodles of fun, being that we had live music and an extremely groovy atmosphere. Most of the vendors were busy and had a great show, including ourselves! The bar is open and we'll be serving drinks for folks of all ages. Hope to see you there!

If you're around the Gardiner, Maine area this coming weekend, you can find us at the  Laura E. Richards School Holiday Craft Fair to be held on Sat. Dec. 4th.

a website of our very own........

Our friend Hope Wallace of Paper Relics came to Maine to visit for a week to show us how to run our very own website!! Because she is a dear blogging pal from way back, she gave us the royal treatment, and taught us how to make headers for each website page, thumbnail photos & gave us oodles of info that we NEVER would have been able to figure out!

Because she knows me so well, she knows my style, and therefore Jolene's, because we've always had the same feelings about how the look and feel of Sweet Mojo should be. When I mentioned to her that we were doing a website, she very quickly sent me a designed page, and we loved it... it was so Sweet Mojo! We speak the same language using very professional terms like "grunge it up a bit more" and "that butterfly-thingy for the shopping cart".

It's not quite finished, we will be working today and tomorrow on the site

It's a beautiful day in central Maine!! Nice breeze, sun shining and so is our skin!! We both put our body oil on this morning after showering and it is nice! Leaves the skin feeling very soft and silky. After Jes gets back from her short vaca we will most likely be in production mode on this....something for you all to look forward to!! Hope everyone is having a great day, enjoy this beautiful weather, we only get it for a short while in our corner of the universe! Yesterday we experimented with an all-over body oil that will come in a 4 oz spray-bottle.

So far we are thrilled with the results! It will contain Vitamin E, Sunflower, Jojoba, & Avocado Oils, then we blend our handcrafted scents into the mix.

I was on a boat this weekend, and my skin was very sunkissed... after using the oil, my skin glowed all day! And it was super soft too!

I used our SUNBEAM scent for my test bottle.

And our SPICY NATURE scent for Jolene's test bottle.

Ummm....errrr.... let's just say we couldn't stop smelling ourselves throughout the day! LOL!

I am in the proccess of designing our labels now!
